The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar, the iconic instrument that helped start the company in 1985, and has been played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players ever since. For 2018, PRS is adding a new model based on that platform: the Custom 24-08.
The PRS SE Series continues to see significant additions in the 2018 model year with nine new models, growing on the huge strides made by the brand last year. PRS Guitars is proud to offer the acclaimed McCarty 594 and McCarty Singlecut 594 with PRS/Seymour Duncan Soapbar pickups for a limited time. McCarty 594 models were designed to rival the best vintage instruments, meticulously spec’d with a 24.594” scale length, Pattern Vintage neck carve, tweaked Phase III locking tuners with modified collars and set screws, and a two-piece zinc bridge. Soapbars are one of the most classic pickup designs and add another tonal option for players that is at once incredibly familiar and effortlessly playable.

On Friday, June 2, 2017 the Chesapeake Region Safety Council (CRSC) held its 94th Annual Meeting at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and awarded PRS Guitars the 2017 Platinum in the General Industry Award for Health and Safety.
It’s no secret that John Mayer’s main guitar for The Dead & Company tour has been the PRS Super Eagle that launched last spring. During the 2016 tour, PRS made Mayer a second version of that instrument with some updated woods and aesthetic appointments.
Paul Reed Smith, founder and Managing General Partner of PRS Guitars, has received an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Maryland’s Washington College. The degree, which was in recognition of Paul’s significant achievements as an innovative and creative thinker, was presented to Smith by Washington College President Sheila Bair during a public ceremony on Thursday, April 13.
